Default Rhd 35 convertible sedan finally arrives

I bought this 35 convertible sedan last year and it's finally home in the shed. A lot of repairs have already been done in North Carolina. It's originally from Argentina so I'm lucky that it is factory rhd and comes with most of the hard to find convertible parts. So I'm into stripping the body and frame and straight in for proper sand blasting and epoxy.
A big thanks to Rick in SC who inspected the car on my behalf and transported it to L.A. Also a big thanks to Steve on the Gold Coast who handled the importing to Australia.
Does anybody know any history of this car by any chance?

G'Day Dan,
Congats on another model 48. I'm interested in the crank hole in the grille.
Is it a fix for a damaged hole or an original Argentina spec grille ? Once again well done.
Regards, Gary

Gary it looks like the car was refurbished (guessing here) around 40-50 years ago. The bumpers were heavily sanded and rechromed. The grill was repaired including the crank hole mod and rechromed. The inner grill was chromed and so was the gear stick. But those chromed items are now in pretty poor condition, hence my guess of the time frame.

Scott I haven't got a colour chosen yet. It was black originally, time will tell. Speaking of colours my roadster has just gone to the paint shop so I better get the paint finalised for it first!!!

Nice car -I have been tempted by cars from Argentina previously. The RHD thing is obviously appealing. However I get the impression that cars in Argentina are kept on the road long past their use by date with copious (as we would refer to down under) " Number 8 Wire" or Farmers fixes.

I once got keen on a 1930 Model A Deluxe Phaeton from Argentina but when I saw pictures it looked like it had travelled to New Zealand as deck cargo on a submarine . It went to someone else with more skills, optimism and/ or deeper pockets than I -Karl

Not wanting to spoil Dan's Post, but on the subject of cars from Argentina, a number of years ago, this pair of old Fords, 1933 and 1934 Ford Tudor Sedans were imported from Argentina and advertised locally for sale. There was only one word that could describe their condition, rough. Check out the running boards. While this is a desirable body style in Australia, they remained unsold for ages, as both cars were so rough and rusty. They were not good buying.
