short fiber front wheel bearing grease if you can find it, its heavy enough to stay in the bearing but not so heavy that it gets flung against the outer bearng shell and wont come back to the bearing

The modern synthetic rotating bearing greases are very good stuff now days. They last about 50% longer than the old OEM recommendations.

What year generator? 32-36 are oiled. So it must be later. Forget the packing of an old bearing and purchase a new double rubber shield bearing, no packing and no dirt or water gets inside. No need for felt seals, but you do have to use the washers for spacing. Charlie Schwindler NY has a sealed replacement for the 32-36 bearing, it has more load capacity than the originals and never oil.
