52 Vic fuel pump
Electric fuel pump only dual Stromburg 97's so I decided to install mechanical fuel pump so I could shut off the electric one, ran line from electric to mech pump from that pump to the fuel block, When I got it together turned on electric had #4 pressure started it let it warm up turned off electric pump no more pressure ran out of fuel turned on electric pump runs good but still no pressure so I know the mech. pump is mot working don't know why it still shows 0 pressure from the electric pump now even thou it starts and runs OK.
Just thought I would see if anyone here had any answers before I pull the pump and try to figure it out. Thanks. |

Re: 52 Vic fuel pump
What kind of electric pump? Some will allow fuel to be pulled through them, some won't.

I don't know about that pump. I do know that Airtex makes electric pumps in 6V and 12V that can be used with a mechanical pump. They have models that operate in the same pressure range as your Carter.

Re: 52 Vic fuel pump
I don't know how much the fuel pump push rod should move this one appears to move about a quarter to three eights inch, Should I be able to test this pump by running a line from the input to a fuel can and operating it by hand? tried this with no response. This is an Airtex double action pump. Thanks
