Wiring electric clock ('49 Ford Sedan(
Replacing windup clock with electric. Should it be wired to full-time hot wire or ignition switch (receive "juice" only when key is on). Car is a daily driver.
Thank You. |

Re: Wiring electric clock ('49 Ford Sedan(
I ran mine through a hidden toggle switch cuz I was skeered of running down the battery. The quick shot of power is so fast and slight I don't know if it would ever be a problem, though...slim

Re: Wiring electric clock ('49 Ford Sedan(
Ok, so I already gave my 2 cents of an answer on this thread. George will do what he wants with his clock wiring and he can't really go wrong. So why am I posting again on this thread?
Cuz it's number 30 for me. I understand catapults me from being a "junior" member to a "MEMBER!!!" Yaaa...slim |

Re: Wiring electric clock ('49 Ford Sedan(
Define "electric clock". If it's an automotive clock, it has points inside and when they close, mechanism moves and winds the clock, as well as the points springing open (no electrical draw). These are always wired constant hot, won't drain the battery.
