Default Tire width

I have spare tire wheel wells in both fender. I'm having a hard time getting spares in and out. I can let the air out, but then I have to pump them up in order use them. I understand some tires company that make a narrower tries. I need two new spare and I might buy ones that go in and out without deflating. Can any one help.
Thanks John

I have heard that the new Firestones don't fit but the Goodyear’s do. I like the look of the Firestone tread better for my Station Wagon. It seems to be a more "commercial" tread. As a side note the 150B's according to the JS had a 500 width tire not a 475 if I remember correctly.

Chief used to have me rub grease on the inside of the wheel wells for "easy" removal. Bill W.

Deflate the tire to 5 psi & the Firestones will fit fine.Lets face it,how often do you have a flat?I still have the tire pump that I bought for my first A back in'53.
