Default value of 29 tudor body?

I stumbled on a 1928 Tudor body that seems to be in primer. I didn't see any fenders, just the body. It has a title.
What would be a fair price?

Illinois title?? If so it's probably useless as the state revoked all Illinois titles from 1948 and later. Might be wrong on the starting date of the revocation.

Decent 28 tudor with good doors and sub rails is $1,500.00 all day. And I think that is on the high side. It needs to have good sheet metal or it's worth scrap value. Primer is not your friend.

What are they asking???

A title may start your wood stove, if the doors are good $1,500 -2,000 for starters without seening photos. Primer is a red flag, see what it is hiding. Bob

i call bs on the illinois title issue
your lucky if it is an illinois title...then they wont ask to verify the number on the frame or engine.
show pics to verify, but i think $1500 is a good price

Hi, I do not mean to hijack the thread but look at my avatar and tell me what this might be worth the car runs and drives but needs a radiator and I have applied to Wisconsin for a title. Today 08:19 PM

I know the guy and he does good work. He was given this but has never been interested in A's. He was going to put it on a modern frame and drivetrain.

I'll be back over at his place during the week and see if I can get some decent pix. It's in the back corner of his work barn. I ran my hand over the body and thumped and all felt/sounded solid including doors.

Thanks for the feedback...be back with more info later

I got 3500 for this one and I kept the fenders and splash aprons. It was a shame that it had been chopped, there was zero rust in the body

I think cost is a regional question. Craigslist down here has the same old cars on it every time you look. Some have been on there now from six months to a year.

Yup bad time of year and when I look at what is happening overall in the car market it does not look good, the wife has been on me to sell it and the boys say keep it and I am going to keep it there is no way I am going to get my money back and I feel I bought it right. A friend told me to trailer it to North St Paul car get together and I do not think so it is mainly the hot rod crowd which I have no problem with but I know that if I were to sell it there, it would either be cut down or cut up and left to rot. I have no problem with modifications as long as the body is left as Henry designed it.

I'm going next weekend to try and buy a roadster body. I have not seen it. But he described it to me. I'm taking a 1,000 dollars with me. He says its all there boy wise. But it's been sitting out side sense he got it in 62.
