Default '40 Pickup choke / throttle rods

Anyone have a set to sell or perhaps a good photo or better yet, a tracing? Mine are absent and as you guys know, the repops advertised for pickups are not correct.

Thanks!

Kube, I have an original, unrestored '41 pickup in the shed at home. Would the choke and throttle rods be the same as the '40? I will get a photo as soon as I can.

The 40 & 41 should be pretty much the same unless the 41 had a 6-cylinder.

I bought a set of Drakes' Throttle and Choke rods for a 39 car when they were clearing them out. I used them on my 40 and all i had to do was adjust(?) the bend. Then there was no difference

I'm trying to upload the photos I have for you Kube but when the upload is 100% complete VBulletin tells me the security token was missing. I have never had this or any other problems posting photos to this site. Send me an email or PM with your email address and I'll send them to you that way.

Thanks,
Seth

Kube, here are some more photos of the rods themselves. There is no rubber knuckle joint in the rods. They are a solid rod from the carburetor through the firewall where they connect to the dash pull knobs.

I hope this does help. This truck has been off the road since the 1970's and It's in unrestored condition, hopefully the prior owners have not tampered with these rods.

I'm not an expert but so far the only obvious thing I can spot on this truck that has been changed is the distributor. There is a crab type distributor on it. It even as the engine pans installed yet. Fuel pump has also been changed out to the later type.

Many of us are looking forward to Kube's new book, no doubt! But I believe this throttle rod request has more to do with the beautiful pick-up that Kube is getting close to finishing-up. DD

I have both a coupe and a pickup, so it's all relevant.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Lots to see and appreciate in them.

WOWx1000!!!
