Re: 48 f1 tires
My book lists 6.00x16 ,6.50x16 or 15"-6 with rims of 16x4 1/2 or 15x5.5 for F1. I'm sure firestone was original but not if it was the only choice.

Re: 48 f1 tires
would the ford script black walls be too early for the 48 model?

Re: 48 f1 tires
I can tell you my dad runs 7.00 X 16" on his '49 F-1 and the tires are too big. I think they have too much sidewall and don't handle as well as a smaller tire. Mind you, bias ply tires don't handle great to big with so it's all realitive I guess.

Re: 48 f1 tires
I have had Firestone 6.50 x 16's on my 48 F1 pickup. They handled pretty good. They are now on my 53 F100, still like em' I have had them for about nine or ten years.

Re: 48 f1 tires
thanks everyone for your help, i thought the script tires would be used before the 48 model so thanks for clarifying that.
