Default Joe Abbin's new book

Just looked through Joe Abbin's new book, Ford & Mercury Flathead V8 Identification & Rebuild's Guide. It is mainly an ID and parts guide. I found it very interesting with a lot of photos.

I had him send his last 2 out to me also, and found them both very good. Pleasure to talk to over the phone, helpful.

Hi Everyone, I've met Mr. Abbin a couple of times and have found him to be very knowledgeable and very friendly! He also drives a cool car!

These are some photos from 2012 and 2013.

Here's where you can find out more about his three books and his restoration shop. http://www.roadrunnerengineering.com...sServices.html

I also see his newest book (at least, maybe others) is available from the Early Ford V8 Foundation's store located here: http://www.fordv8foundation.org/store.html Looking further I see his Performance Handbook there also.

Joe does drive a cool car, but that's not it, and that's not him in the first pic. That belongs to another Albuquerque local who owns a resto shop, Bob Agnew. Joe built the motor for the shoebox, tho. Joe has a 50 Merc with a blower motor in it, all I have is a pic of the engine.

Joe has written some really good books over the years. They show what works and what does not.He proves it on the Dyno along with charts and graphs. All of his books are a great read. No old world BS. He is a hands on guy with a Masters degree in mechanical engineering and a super nice guy.

I've known Joe for a long time, probably 20 years. I visit him just about every time I go to Albuquerque and used to hang out with him quite a bit when I lived there. He is a great guy, very knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge. He's flow tested dozens and dozens of heads stock and modified and has a book with all his data in it that I've perused...very enlightening.

I like his approach - he validates things on the flow bench, proves them on the dyno, then drives it and revalidates it on the drag strip. He's got some neat cars!

Proud to call him a friend.
