Default Replacing 34 Cowl Light Arms

Thought I'd ask if anyone has had good success at replacing the rivets in 33-34 cowl lights that attach the light to the chrome arms? The rivets look like steel but the area inside the light body is very small. I was considering using stainless round head screws and filing off the slots????? Any suggestions???
Thank you,
Tom

I would leave them alone unless you have already removed them. If so, you have my sincere sympathy.

Someone makes a kit of stainless bolts with no screwdriver slot on the outside. I have used them, works very good. May be Drake?

There are stainless steel round head screws without slots available that duplicate the original rivets perfectly and eliminate the risk of fracturing the plating on the die cast arms.

Hello Dave,

Any sources for the rivet replacements? I have been unsuccessful in locating the correct size rivet head screws, having tried all my known sources. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Just went to the internet and discovered Brattons Antique Auto Parts sells the specialty stainless rivets for the cowl light bodies. They're $1.20 for two.
