Uploading Files
Why am I unable to upload files to a new thread? I choose the file name in pictures on my computer and when I go to the top of block for Posting New Thread, it tells me unable to upload. I have it designated as a jpeg.

Re: Uploading Files
My guess is that your files are too large, how large are they? What kind of computer do you have?

The max size for a .jpeg file is 585.9 kb. You need to downsize your picture. This would be true for both PCs and MACs. If you want to post a bigger picture, it has to already be on the internet (on line photo album). You would then use the "picture icon" to post it. It costs the Barn in storage capacity to host pictures. That's why they limit the size. It doesn't cost them anything for us to link to a picture on the internet.

Re: Uploading Files
I'm not sure what the file size limit is, but those sound too large. Try resizing them on your PC (Paint is one program that will do it; there are other ways.) to, say, 25% of their original size. Save the resized files and try uploading them. I've uploaded many photos this way. If you have trouble with resizing your files, do a google search on "resizing files in Windows 10". Good luck.

Re: Uploading Files
Thanks to Dick Steinkamp and Pilotdave for your suggestions.
I will have to defer trying them just now because I'm on another mission BUT I will work at it tomorrow evening or Monday. By the way Pilotdave, are you going to the New England at Jimeny Peak? |

Re: Uploading Files
I have an Olympus 4.1 megapixel camera set on medium JPEG resolution, and the pictures are very clear and load easily without any resizing. I can even have them printed into 8 x 10 photos, and they look clear.
As mentioned, your pictures are too large right now. |
