Default 1940 Ford Std Mohair Seat Fabric

I am looking for some new or used mohair seat fabricate repair my original 1940 Std seats.
I am trying to patch and preserve what I have.
In the past I have tried Le Baron, Mac's and SMS with no success.
I am hoping that one of Barn group has saved some old or new material that would work for me?
I hope the pictures help identify the fabric.
Thanks Tom.

In the following thread it was recommended that if you contact Dave at Cartouche he may be able to help you. His phone number is provided in the thread. Now that LB is gone, Cartouche may be willing to fill the void of special needs customers.

I would be nice to know the mohair fabric supplier LB used. I keep thinking that it might be somewhere in the UK. Perhaps another Fordbarner knows.

I am about to have the LB kit I luckily bought 3 years ago installed in my 40 V8 (std) coupe, and it came with broadcloth not mohair I think.

Interesting. i just checked the 1982 invoice for my LB 40 Ford upholstery kit and it shows (with samples) the seats to be made of # 27-3 Striped Mohair (Foreign England) and the headliner made of what looks like Napped Cotten.
I bet Mohair Cloth is till available in England.

Sure wish LB was still in business.

std1940, I have a pair of cushions that either came from a 4 door or coupe with the package tray (my car is the business coupe with "opera" seats). If you cannot find any fabric, I can take the covers off these cushions and send to you. These are wrapped up in plastic bags that I have never opened so there should be some fabric in there that is ok.
The previous owner had like 5 40s and when I bought the coupe, I was told to take all the extra parts that were left so I grabbed these without knowing what they fit.

I'm not very knowledgeable about 40's but the seats and door panels in the 40 Std coupe I just bought appear to be some form of broadcloth and not mohair. i had mohair in a 40 deluxe I had 30+ years ago.

I needed some rose beige mohairfor my'34. LeBaron Bonney supplied half the kit and left me hanging.I called all over and finally Jeff at Hirsh Auto as able tosupplythe correct mohair.
LB told me for almost year that they could no longer get the mohair from their supplier.
It turns out that Hirsh supplied mohair to them all along.
Thematerial Jeff sent matches perfectly.
You can call and get fabric squares to see if it will match.
Hirsh saved my project.
