Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
The pictures are of 32 style keys. They may have been used as late as 33-34. The round one is for the door/ignition the football is for some tire locks. I have also seen tire locks using the small round keys.
37 keys were either the crown shape or square. I have seen them both ways.

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
Hmmm? I have two pairs of well-worn early 38 originals like this. Alledgedly supplied by the dealership. Glove box keys are Hurds. Ignition keys, Briggs-Strattons. Jack E/NJ

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
Phil,
With respect, so do those of all of the '35s, '36s, and '37s I've owned (11 in total). |

32 Phil Here is an image from my Curtis code book.
Jack E. Hurd seemed to be the primary supplier of keys in the mid 30's with Brigs & Stratton coming in second. |

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
It think where the confusion starts is with the 91A-3686-A lock cylinder, which is when the later key came about. The 91A cylinder is a service replacement cylinder for 32-46, but was not used in production prior to late 1938 I think?.. These cylinders I imagine got changed several times throughout the years

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
If you decide what's in the photos are what you're looking for, (and 35fordtn doesn't have them, my first choice) another supplier, C&G, shows them both in stock at $4.95 each.

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
Another trick to keep in mind. I was having a key cut for my '32 and the locksmith said it was too narrow to fit in his machine. I told him to put a straightened paper clip in the machine to space the key blank higher in the slot of his machine. Worked great.
When you buy the blank look and see if it says HURD or has the name of the vendor, if that is important to you. Charlie Stephens |

Re: Key Blanks for 37 Ford
Check with Third Generation Automotive, C&G, Bob Drake or Dennis Carpenter.
