8ba head gaskets ...which is best
i,m having a rebore on my 8ba truck engine ,new pistons etc ,on my 40 convertible years ago and also on my 39 coupe I used composite head gaskets and lightly brushed them with wellseal (might not be familiar to usa ) and seemed to do the trick nicely ,now a mechanic friend has told me it should be copper head gaskets every time ,I respect his experience and opinion but when I was in heavy haulage our Volvo truck (lorry) mechanic advised me to do what I have been doing as he did on the big vehicles ...what do you reckon? cheers jim.

I've used FelPro black composites and the FelPro blue PermaTorque, never any issues with either. I'm told the black ones are actually made by Victor Reinz, which is a good company too.

Re: 8ba head gaskets ...which is best
Unless you have an "O" ringed block and / or head you gain nothing but headaches with solid copper gaskets. I have used them hundreds if not thousands of times on race engines but would never consider them on a street engine. Stay with what is working for you...I use the blue composite ones on my "stocker" type rebuilds.
