Default 40 Ford rear hubs

I am usually on the Model A forum, but I am building a hotrod using a 40 Ford Banjo rear end. One of my hubs is pitted in the bearing race.Is there a sleeve that can be used to fix this hub, or is there some fix short of replacement. Thanks in advance for your information.
Rod .. Midgetracer.

I am not aware of any sleeve system and I will tell you the hub housing, in the bearing area, is VERY difficult to rebore with a cutting tool.

There have been some adaptations of different bearings in the hubs. I think Lawrie on this site listed some info several months ago. A search might turn something up.

Finally, how bad is it and how much use is intended?? I have seen some really raunchy bearing bores that had no undesirable affect on the bearing. If you can not locate a better hub a careful exam might be in order. The Ford bearing is wide and apparently can pass over some pitted areas without sustaining immediate damage.

If it's the hub, you can buy new re-pops. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speed...5-BP,8333.html

I'm wondering the same thing. Usually the bearing race on the axle housing (integral to the axle housing) is pitted.

If that is the case you can buy a new race, have your axle housing machined down and press on the new bearing race.

Let us know specifically what you are speaking of.
