1934 ford bb truck
I'm currently looking for a needle in a hay stack I believe. I have a 1934 Ford BB truck which I believe is at least 1 1/2 ton or larger with a 2 speed Eaton rearend with only one rear brake drum. So I'm in desperate need of another one or 2 if possible. It measures 14" in dia. and is 5" deep and 7 1/2 center to center wheel studs. My number is 317-908-6112 Thank you very much for any help, Ken

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
There is a thread running a few below this one now on 32 Dual Dump truck....there are several on that post who "hopefully" chime in here. Newc, Corvette8n, GB Sission and other are into the big trucks and they should be able to maybe point you in the right direction AND you may want to check out and follow that post as well!!!!

34 Hotrod Kid,
If those are the same as a standard rear drum, I have a few rear axles with drums at my parents house. I would love to see some photos of your truck as I also have a '34 BB truck. Red |

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
Post pictures of the rear axle and brake drum you have. My memory is Ford didn't offer the two speed as a factory option until 38 or 39. You may have a later axle swapped into your truck or you may have an aftermarket axle installed when the truck was new.

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
I will get some pictures tomorrow and get them posted. The truck that i'm working on now is a 34 BB with a 12 foot flatbed and it has the 14" in dia. brake drum I also have a 34 BB city delivery 9' flatbed and a 34 BB dump truck I only have the 34 BB 12 flatbed running at the moment. The drums on the other two trucks are larger in dia. like 16 or 17" in dia.

34 Ford hot rod kid,
Ok I only have one, but understand the slippery slope of these hobbies. We need to see some pictures of your projects, as the guys are pretty tired of looking at my ragged ol 32! Three of them 34's you say? Wow! These guys can probably find the drums for you. Maybe check with Mike at 3rd Gen also? Regards, Chris

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
I got pictures of the rear drum yesterday and I will get them on here as soon as I can get them downloaded. Thank you to everyone for all the replys I really appreciate it. PS. I tried to use the extra parts truck deal once when I ran it pass my wife and she was ok with it but when I brought two trucks home I think she had second thoughts as they aren't parts trucks after all. Lol

34 KID,
Yea its hard to part these types of things out. Some of us think they all should be saved. But some do need to be used as donors too. Looking forward to the pictures. I will throw in a couple pics here. I just dont have any spares. I think these are 14 inch dia brake drums on a 32 truck. Regards, Chris

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
Hey sugarmaker I'm having trouble posting pictures for some reason of my trucks but I did get some pictures of the brake drum off my 34 truck with the eaton 2 speed rearend posted. Not sure why but the drums off of the 34 w/Eaton rearend are smaller in dia. And the bolt pattern is larger in dia. on 34's. I have a spare 33 chassis and was comparing them. Thanks, 34 KID

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
I just inherited this 33 and since I've hauled too heavy of loads in the past on it I'm thinking about swapping a full floating axles out of a 34 onto it. At that point I'd have the axle you probably need:Image (2).jpg

Re: 1934 ford bb truck
Chevy43,
Would like to see more pictures of your flatbed Ford! I think the OP may have sold the truck.? I haven't talked to him for a while. Your truck must be in good working order? You may want to start a new thread on your truck project. Regards, Chris and Cheryl
