Sandblasting a 28 Roadster Door
So I was wondering how I should sandblast my 28 Roadster door. The inside is what I am not sure about it. I know a little shows with the kick panel put on, so you would need to at least get that part and mask off the rest. Or should I just sandblast the whole thing?

Sandblast and repaint the whole thing to stop rusting.

Re: Sandblasting a 28 Roadster Door
Rather than using a sand blaster, you might want to see if you can fit the door into a bead blasting cabinet. By using the smaller nozzle in the bead blaster you should be able to get into a lot more of the hard to get to areas.
By using the bead blasting cabinet you can also reduce the air pressure. This will help reduce the chance of warping the metal. |

Make sure you strip the paint off first. This will reduce the chance of warping the panel. Inside sandblast what you can and then use a liberal amount of rust converter an slosh it around. Pour off the excess. You should be good to go.

Turn air pressure down a low as possible and still work Always strike the metal at an angle, like about 45* Use fine sand Keep moving, don't stop in one place, You can always come back. Increase the distance from 6" normal to 18" Don't spend a lot of time on the inside and outside of the door skin carry on nick c |
