Default My 32 Roadster

Hello all , just wanted to post a few pics of our 32. I posted a pic of it with a Christmas tree in the back and a few people requested more pics of it so here they . This was my Dad's Roadster . He has Alzheimer's and does not have any memory left . I grew up with all the parts to this car . They were always hanging here and there, being moved and played with but unfortunately he never put it together . He always wanted it to be perfect but as far as he got was getting the frame painted. I decided to put the car together as it was, with all the different colors and the parts as they were and had been . Every color has a story and a meaning to me. Some people think it was painted like this on purpose but it was not . The body is as it was when it was drug out of the barn. The fenders used to be brush painted green from a 32 5 window my Dad parted out in the 60's . I pressure washed the green off and ended up what you see (my Dad always wanted the green off to see what was underneath ) Some original black paint and some primer and black on top of that in spots ? Then I polished them. The frame my Dad had painted long ago after hours and hours of work. The gas tank and frame horn covers were painted before I was born. The interior I got for free from a couple of good friends .I still have the seat from the 50's but it is very weathered. The stories go on and on but this is already getting long . Needless to say , the car means A LOT to me. I miss my Dad every day. Having his car and being able to enjoy it (more than words can describe) is as they say " priceless"

If that is the same car I saw this June at Lake Tahoe, it was one of my favorite of the show.

This really touched me. How lucky you are ! What a rolling tribute. If I had a choice of having my dad leave me this legacy or $300,000 grand, I would take what you got. Money is nice but in the end it's still just money. [ My dad's been gone many years - he didn't leave me either one ! ] The fact that you put this together the way you did, says a lot as to your feelings for your dad - The only thing that I would change, would be ownership from you to me ! But then I think everyone that looks at your ride would feel the same. - Congratulations
