Yes, thank you very much! I would say the best film I've ever seen on the Rouge plant building our old Fords!!

Hi Mart, Thanks for the heads-up! At 3:10 they're showing the electric shovel emptying the boat. There is a guy standing in the end of that huge shovel!

This film starts out like another we've all seen, but this one is new to me, and the best i've seen on the Rouge. Thank you!

Thanks Mart. I've seen parts of that before. It's neat to see the whole thing.

Great film . Can someone please tell me what I am seeing on the side of the Flathead at the 20.28 time of the film ??? It looks like a water hose/outlet/thinga-ma-bob ???? Lincoln maybe ??? I know the film jumps around from different years and 21 stud to 24 stud etc etc but I have never seen what is on the side of that engine .

Thanks , Mike

I think you are right, Mike, The crank looks like there is more to come below the shot (thin web at botton of pic) and the pistons are visible above the block face and are relatively small in diameter.

Thanks for all the thanks, I wasn't fishing for thanks, I was just pleased to find the link on another forum and I didn't think it had been posted here. There are many details that can answer questions. For example, the helmet distributor is fitted without any HT gear fitted. The bolts are all accessible via a speedbrace. The ht leads and side caps, already inserted into the loom tubes are fitted later. This came up in a discussion about the tubes a few months ago.

Glad you all got a kick out of it, I certainly did.

Mart.

The Magnitude of this place is mind bottleing.
And Henry may have gotten credit for building it. / There is no way that any one person could think of all the problems that could pop up along the way.
The fact that he could muster up enough $$$$$ at that time is where his expertise lyes.
NO computers -- just slide rulers / paper / pencils /pens & a whole lot of sleepless nights.
To think that by todays standards this place could never be built with all the red tape & hoops to jump through.
Here on the Barn I keep hearing Be AMERICAN Buy AMERICAN !!!!
And Why dose X Y Z Vendor Farm the manufacturing off shore of the little widget that I need for my build .
Any one of us can try to go to there town / city meeting and say Can I open a factory to build this widget & After you hear a BIG BIG NO / NO WAY
Go back and wonder how Henry was able to pull it all together.

Does any one know if this complex was done as one large build or was it done in stages & those parts taken to other locations to be assembled.

How many startups / shutdowns did it take to get all the bugs out ??????

Henry had the idea but many others had the wits to complete his dreams,& these are the forgoten people the got Henry to the top.

( O yea the Vanderbilt's did NOT build the mansions in NEWPORT R.I.)
