Default Exhaust for an 8BA

I am getting ready to replace the exhaust on my 36' pick-up. It has an 8BA in it currently. Based on what I have read, I will be putting 1 3/4" tubes underneath. I would like to replace the exhaust pipe flanges and have not been able to turn up any with 1 3/4" holes. I have checked the usual suppliers and local shops do not have them. Any suggestions? Do I need to fabricate my own? 2" flange with a reducer? Any information would be a great help.

Am assuming that when you say "the usual suppliers" you did not check NAPA.
If not would this suffice?

Checked the Red's website, plenty of gaskets but no metal flanges. It was worth a try. First, I go around to the shops that I know of and see if I can get what I need over the counter. When that fails, I look on the web and see what I can get shipped to me. There is no Napa near to me, this will have to wait till I can go up to San Francisco. Is there much difference in going to 2" tubes? There seems to be a bit more to draw from if I go that way. It's only a 1/4" difference. In other threads here on the barn I have read about using 1 3/4" for exhaust. The old ones on my truck are this size or smaller. Just wondering.

would this 1.75" roll bar tubing flange work:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tubing-Flang...-Tube-FO5304A-

Description:
Tubing Flange Mount for Cage 1.75" Tube FO5304A

This flange is based on our FO5304 flange and shares the same dimensions. The mounting holes are 3/8" diameter, placed 3" apart. It is laser cut from 1/4" steel. The part number is FO5304A.
Price is right and no petrol on your part is required.

I am running 2" on mine and despite what others say about sounding better, the 2" sounds to me as good if not better than the 1-3/4".
Besides that 2" gives the added advantage of less restriction.
Go for the 2"

Thanks for the information. Like anything, it's all about availability. I spent some time looking for 1 3/4" flanges with no luck. Thinking I can cut off the ones I have and grind them to take a weld. If that won't work I will make them out of stock. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

When replacing a 59a with a 8ba in 47 ford car, if I use 47 manifolds will they bolt up if lucky, or how close will they be.

Can you use the 2" flanges/pipe at the manifold and reduce it just off the manifold?
