Default Bronco

Finally found a early bronco I could buy at the right price. almost a barn find he had it painted several years ago and put it under the awning next to the barn with the chickens. Said he wanted to drive his other one so he just parked it. After getting all the junk off it to move to my trailer took it home and other than the color it don't look bad . 302 did fire up but have to rebuild carb and clean gas tanks before I can drive. Just wish he had not stuck with original color.

I think I'd paint 'em body color. I think white would make 'em look too much like JC Whitney add-ons. JMHO

Cool Bronco. Growing up my neighbor had one of those he bought brand new (same color). Had the factory wheels with the '66 LTD/Galaxie style hubcaps. I always loved that look.

IMHO white fender flares to match the top would look just fine. Great find, I've always liked them but w/ a family needed more room inside.

That Bronco looks pretty solid, what year is it? My wife has owned one for the past 8 years and she loves it. I have an extra set of Ford wheels that look factory correct I think they were on the Stroppe Bronco's along with pick ups.

It is a 74 . Cleaned up nice . I guess I will drive it as is for a while , put electronic ignition on it , changed front gas tank , ran new fuel lines , new brake lines , new brake booster , new dash pad , new door handles , changed carburetor , new head light wiring harness , same old story the never ending list to get an old vehicle running.

Those new wheels make it really right. The fender flares can be black or white and still look great. Neat find, great save.

I used to have a 74 much like that, Dark met. Blue though.
I would highly recommend disc brakes up front! And add an additional shock mount up front for a twin shock setup. Those frontends tend to dive into the corners badly. I was really glad I did that to ours.
Although it was fun to own and play with with acompletely new suspension overhauled suspension it was a rough ridin' ole dude. Got old after a time for me, but hey I'm no longer a teenager either!

I have a soft spot in my head for the Ford Bronco's, I've had a couple, both of which were '79's, Ranger XLT with the quad suspension.
I sold my last Bronco last October, I had it for over ten years, a nice truck with less than 90K..
The only thing I don't like about the Bronco's is that they are very unstable at highway speeds, too short of a wheel base and top heavy...
