There is no such thing as a "repro" VIN plate for a Model A since the Model A did not come with a VIN plate. If your state is like California VIN plates are available from your local DMV. Best part of it is that they are legal. They will even put a number on them and install them. Anything else will possibly get you in trouble. If you really don't mean VIN plate there was a patent number plate on the firewall attached with 4 rivets and bodies that were not made by Ford carried a "Body Number" plate to identify just the body but not the entire vehicle.

Do I understand you were able to find Model A Ford VIN plates? What do they look like and what could be done on a car that did not have a VIN plate from the factory?

What these guys said. They can't be bought on e-bay. There were no VIN plates on Model A's. What part of what these two very informative men said that you didn't understand?

A person can get a "VIN" plate to put on their A if they want. There is a vendor on the Barn that sell them in the swap meet section. I would not recommend this vendor.

I did get a qualified vendor to produce a "VIN" plate for my coupe. I installed it on my firewall. It has my engine number on it and that is the "VIN" number that is recorded on my title with the state. Just makes it easer for the "superior" state employees to find it on my rig.

Remember my rig is a driver so I can do what I want with it.

yes, these plates are sold-they have the old ford logo and a place to stamp your vin number. guys use them on rods................

and yes, they are on ebay every single day.
believe it or not, takes the guesswork discussed on previous threads of removing fenders and " proving" a cars serial number to the dmv.
no, they are not "authentic"

Haha, If I remember correctly the Op asked for "repo Vin (data) plates".

The correct answer to his question is You can't have a "Repo" of something that never existed on a Model A in the first place?
Yes you can get a VIN plate but THAT was NOT the question.

Here IS the OP's original question: "Who sells the best quality repo Vin (data) plates?"

You can't have a "Repo" of something that never existed on a Model A in the first place?

He does not mention the Model A at all.

Yes you can get a VIN plate but THAT was NOT the question.

I believe it was.

Not true. All European assembled or made Ford Model A's had a data plate that included the VIN.

From France for example:

(part of the "Moteur" number has been blanked out)

...or from Germany:

...or from Denmark (dealer installed):

I have seen repros of the German and Danish ones. They pop up for sale in Europe on the internet every once in a while.

Fordially,

Default Repro VIN/data plates for Model A's

Here is a photo of the German repro data plates for a Model A (depending if the car was from the assembly plant in Berlin or the factory in Koln.

I had one of the Mac VIN tags with a number stamped on it matching a pink slip purchased in NY. DMV inspector said those were red flags as far as he was concerned. This is the tag issued in Colorado for cars with bonded titles.

I can understand that in the case of the MAC's plate because even though it's common in speech to say "VIN number", a tag wouldn't read:
Vehicle Identification Number Number.
