Default Sacrificial Anode

Using the original block with copper gaskets and the original radiator.

Do I need a sacrificial anode?

Seems many people had no issues while others experienced galvanic problems.

Does using a steel radiator instead of aluminum mean I do not need to use the anode?

Never heard of a "steel" radiator.

With different types of metal (copper, steel, iron, bronze, brass) touching your cooling water, the possibility for electrolysis exists. Sacrificial anode is cheap insurance. Use good quality green (not orange) antifreeze. A bottle of Norosion is also good insurance. Aluminum is the most vulnerable. I have aluminum heads and aluminum radiator, so I do all of the above.

Google Boatzincs.com and they will have what you are looking for. Just put a zink anode in each head. I have edlebrock heads with an extra hole in each head and they sell a plug to fit the head with a zinc screwed into the plug.

I have always wondered if the dissolve zinc anode will clog up your radiator?

Believe it is at the ion level and not hunks of metal floating around.
