Rear motor mount replacement
I need to replace the passenger side stock rear motor mount. I’m sure this has been asked before, but what’s the easiest way to do this with the engine in the car ?
Thanks - Jim |

Re: Rear motor mount replacement
Place jack lightly under motor to hold up, remove frame nuts, and the two 3/4 inch motor mount bolts, hopefully no spreader should be needed to replace.put a little grease on to make easier install

Re: Rear motor mount replacement
If needed I just put a half inch bolt and nut into a piece of pipe to push
the frame out a nudge. Set against the engine block, chamfer the edges of the mounting bolts for stress free starting |

Re: Rear motor mount replacement
A buddy and I replaced the rear passenger side motor mount yesterday in about an hour. We had a jack under the bell housing to take weight off the mount, and tapped a piece of 2X4 just the right length between the frame and bell housing, then slid the old mount out and slid the new mount and pad in. The toughest part was breaking the old rubber pad free from the frame.

Re: Rear motor mount replacement
Can wedging the 2x4 against an A or AA bell housing crack it, even with body bolts loosened?
