Default first TEST Drive of my '36 Ford pickup....

Hello,

I went for my first TEST Drive of my '36 Ford pickup last Saturday 08/03. Got about 4 blocks away from home when the passenger side top radiator hose blew off at the head (you can imagine the mess that made). I then walked home to get my Dodge truck, tow rope then drive back to my '36 Ford pickup. My girlfriend steered the '36 Ford pickup as I towed her. Got right in front of the house and she yells out the window at me that she has no brakes. Blew the right rear wheel cylinder. My girlfriend is smart because she knew to pull the Emergency Brake handle before rolling into the back of my Dodge truck. I had just installed all new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and brake lines. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes. I will do repairs then go for SECOND TEST Drive. NOTE: did not want to send photos of messy '36 Ford pickup and unhappy me.

Make sure the rear wheel cylinders are drilled correctly. There were some about a few years ago that had the drilling part way up the bore.

Maybe blowing that radiator hose saved you from a bigger problem with the wheel cylinder further down the road? Congratulations on getting the truck home safely under the circumstances.
