I am with Phil Brown on this one! Check gas flow out of the tank? Check gas flow at the carb.

Take a bicycle pump or hook a hose on the gas line to the tank and blow back to clear any rust away from the screen.

It is cheep, costs nothing and it may ident the problem...........

And there are solutions for this problem all the way to coating the tank and also just flushing the rust out and putting magnets strategically located in the tank!
