Default Reinstallation engine with trans.

Well done this many times with V8 Fords and transmission but how difficult is it going to be with bellhousing and transmission attached installing engine trying to line up with torque tube and getting between rear mounts. No pedals on bellhousing, radiator off.

pretty straightforward. A floor jack will be a great help to align the trans with the driveshaft splines. Have the trans in neutral and rotate the u-joint until it slips into place.
sometimes having the rear motor mounts a little loose and greased will help you slide the engine into place
don't forget to pack the u-joint until the grease comes out the speedometer
opening, and then button everything up.

Yep I would agree that some grease on the rear motor mounts would help. Installed my engine one week ago and didn't grease them... took a bit of force to push it back far enough. My transmission slipped in between gears which held up the process for a little bit but easy enough otherwise though. Might be a good idea to put the shift tower on before aligning the u joint just to keep the trans in neutral. Some zip ties through the u joint clam shell bolt holes to keep the gaskets and inner cup in place help too.

Just watch those fingers if reaching in there to help rotate the u joint for alignment with the drive shaft.

I like having help to align everything and get it set in the frame. I can button it up at my leisure but with help it goes really quite quickly. By myself I have spent an hour or so getting done what two of us should do in twenty minutes, that is getting the engine resting in the frame with all things in line and ready for the nuts and bolts to be tightened,
