Default What size Tires

I have a 1936 Pickup with what I believe are the original size wheels, 4X16. I am not too concerned about maintaining a “Concourse” look, just a decent appearance. So here is my question:

What size tires can I safely run on these wheels?

Thanks, Norm

Do you want to run bias ply or radials? You can get both in a 600x16.

NormC, I think you are asking about the width, I have both bias and radial tires on two different cars/truck and a friend that changed to radials. The radial tires in the 600 X 16 are a GREAT improvement! The tires if you look up on Coker or Lester tires give you the recommended rim width for tires. Look at that information, very limited with the 4 inch rim width.
