Most of the time I use news paper packed very tightly. For fragile items I use the heavy blue bubble wrap used by England furniture. I get it free (minus my gas money) from a somewhat local furniture store. That stuff is near bullet proof and comes in real big sheets. Anyone who has bought parts from me that needed good padding can attest to the strength of that stuff. Rod

Yes, check on line for rates. Once had a fedex quote of $275 for 2d day air. Looked online at usps, paid $90 for overnight (oregon to ny). You need to know approximate weight and dimensions of box.

ALWAYS shake your box, VIOLENTLY, before shipping. If there is any movement, REPACK !
Those peanuts are almost useless, as packing. They either bunch up, leaving air space or crumble. Packing tight with newspapers, has always worked best for me.

Mike, how was that bumper bracket packed that I sent you? LOL . I always try to do a first class job when packaging parts that I sell. Sometimes people let me know how much they appreciate something that arrives packaged really well.
Now I did have a strange problem with a camshaft that I sent to Pete. I thought I had it packaged so well that it would be totally indestructible, but when it arrived at Petes place it was broken in half. I could not believe it. Pete gave me instuctions on how he normally packs them for shipping and the second one I sent got there in one piece.

I use USPS Priority, and they always get there as promised. No damage. But when I get something sent to me, it has to go thru the West Springfield , Mass terminal and they have a bad habit of directing them to Paramus, NJ. THe last one was actually put out for delivery down there! Adds 4-5 days to the shipping. They all blame someone else.....
