Default 59A cam. Undersize journals?

Has anyone ever encountered a cam with undersize journals? I have one here that appears to be .010" down on the others I have. Were bearings ever available to suit?

Thanks in advance.

Mart.

The .010 undersize cam bearings are still being made and easy to get. Fords minimum dimension for the cam bearing journals is1.7955. When I come across a cam that I want a new profile ground onto if the cam measures under that 1.7955 dimension the journals are now ground the .010 undersize so it can be used once again. I have a few 1932 steel cams with different profiles most of them have been ground undersize probably due to the fact the original 1932 Ford V-8 block did not have cam bearings the cam rotated in the iron of the block.

As Ronnie said pretty common. I have also see cams removed from original engines with.010 under. I also keep under sized bearings & often have cams ground.010 under

I sold a set at Hershey this year. The were Dura Bond brand and, like others mentioned, pretty easy to get.
