Rear leaf spring U bolt
I'm considering cutting a hole in the floor of the rumble seat to replace a bad U bolt. Any better ideas, short of lifting the body? Thanks

Re: Rear leaf spring U bolt
I hope you are going to tell me I don't have to cut the floor. Looking at it, it seems to me it is possible to remove it without lifting the body. Thanks

Why are you removing it in the first place? I've pulled several rears and I've never removed the bolts yet.

I suggest you go the route of lifting the body enough to replace the spring. Remove the nuts from the body bolts, raise the rear of the body...block between the body and frame for safety and make the change. Work safe. Good Day! |
