Default white walls

Can I get some advice as to what to clean my white walls with? Mine are brown around the outer edges on two of the tires. They seem to do this even when I don't drive the truck.

And is there a white paint or polish I can use to make them look whiter? If that's even a word....

Thanks for your help...
Shane

Had the problem with my wide whites. Used Super Clean (purple cleaner) and a bristle brush and cleaned it away. Also try Simple Green, 409, Fantastic

Soft Brush is a must. I use a large finger nail brush.

I tried all that other stuff and nothing works like Brillo soap pads. That other stuff will not remove a scuff.

Used to be Westleys bleach-rite but I guess someone else bought it, heard it doesn’t work like the old stuff. NAPA and Amazon carry it.

I have a good friend who owns a tire shop and I asked him if he sprayed something on my new tires because in a few months they got this brown haze on the surface. I suspected silicone but he said there was a period when a new rubber formula hit the market and tires turned brown. That is supposed to be corrected and off the market by now. But my tires still turn brown. So I just drive through some mud on the way to a show.

Are you referring to steel wool pads? Seems pretty harsh. Does Brillo make something else?

Another vote for Simple Green. That's what the guys over at Diamond Back recommended. I've cleaned the WW's on my 40 with it several times and it's worked good.

Yes Brillo steel wool soap pads.Works every time.Don't exist here in France.Had some mailed in.A friend here with WW on his 53 Ford custom could not get them clean with "conventional" over the counter stuff. The brillo pads worked. I have scuffed a WW on my '36 Ford a few yrs back and the Brillo's were the only thing that worked . Harsh -not really IMO but it works.Remember its just a tire . Had the old Denman WW (bought them as seconds from Lucas in Long Beach,CA)on a '34 Vic I restored in 1970.They turned light brown , Brillo worked although the kept turning brown every 6 months.

I have been using BRILLO/SOS, fine steel-wool soap pads, to clean white-side wall tires since the early '50's.. The soap pads work great to clean road grime, curb scuffs etc., from WW's with no apparent harm to the tires.
I always wet the pad and use plenty of water on the tire to rinse the tire off.
BRILLO/SOS pads are also great to clean stainless steel, chrome trim. The steel-wool in the pad is probably finer than 000 steel-wool.
