I wonder if this is where FOMOCO got the idea for the US RANCHERO?

Exclamation Re: 1958 Ford Fairlane Spring Model?

- I DID NOT KNOW THIS -

Quote:
METEOR was a marque of automobiles offered by Ford Motor Company of Canada from 1949 to 1976. The make was retired for the 1962 and 1963 model years, when the name was used for the MERCURY METEOR sold in the United States. It succeeded the Mercury 114, a Canadian-market Mercury based on the Ford, the "114" name being taken from the car's wheelbase.

TYPICAL KULTULZ EDIT and/or ADDENDUM -

Quote:
The MONARCH line provided Canadian Ford dealerships a product to sell in the medium-price field, similar to Ford of Canada offering the METEOR line of lower-price vehicles which were actually Ford models with Mercury-like trim and model names.

1958 Ford Fairlane with optional Country Club Trim
This illustration from the Revised Sales Brochure show two different 1958 Ford Fairlane Town Victoria.
The Red & White car in the back ground illustrated the regular 1958 Ford Fairlane.
The main picture show the Country Club Trim that was added the last few months of production.
So, towards the end of the model year, Buyers had the choice of two models in each body style.

Trevor, does the SALES BROCHURE actually call it out as COUNTRY CLUB TRIM?

I can't read the fine print.

You know Trevor, what you are doing on this thread is appreciated.

Does this brochure have a reference to COUNTRY CLUB TRIM as opposed to SPRING SPECIAL as did the other?

Your reading glasses must be much better than mine ...

That 56 conversion looks nice.

To me the 58s are not a pleasing design to my eye.

When I started this Thread, all that I knew was that the illustrations in the final April Revision of the 1958 Ford Family Sales Folder showed the base Fairlanes with extra side trim. The illustrations showed all four body styles with this additional Trim, but there was no mention that this Trim was Optional. There were no Illustrations of these four body styles without this Trim. Because of the Print Date of the folder being 4-58, I automatically called these models Spring Models. I had not heard the term "Country Club Trim ". It is only since I purchased the Revised 1958 Ford Fairlane Sales Brochure dated 3-58 that I have discovered this term. The attached picture is the 1958 Ford Family Sales Folder dated 4-58.
