Default flathead gauges

Can anyone tell me if, other than the faceplates and cosmetics, if the gauge portions of the speedometers were the same from 1933-1939?
Thanks, Perry

Be interesting to see what answers come up... The internal 'mechanicals' weren't even the same for ONE year. I've forgotten, I'm thinking there are something like three or four suppliers for 33-34. Just to name a couple that I can think of, Waltham and Stewart Warner. Maybe you are thinking 'basics' -- then I'd say the basic design remained the same for many, many years...??

YES: I can speak of 37/38 and 39. there are three supperies of mechanical internal parts. I have several 39 deluxe speedos, and outside can is different. as is the internals, some with SW in a circle on the casting, so called gear box.. of the 39 speedos only one has "Waltham" on the face. the others are "no name" I am told this by instrument repairman, who has been named as someone to fix your stuff. by other barners... hope this
helps......OLD....BILL

Didn't King Seally make some gauge parts or temp senders?

King-Seely did the temp, gas, and oil gauges, but I don't think they did speedometers. The 38-39 book put out by the Early Ford V-8 Club shows Stewart Warner, Waltham and Delco for the speedos. 37 used the same suppliers. The 35-36 book and the 33-34 book do not indicate speedometer suppliers, but in 1932 they used the same suppliers as 1938-39. I suspect that Ford used these suppliers througout the V-8 era

How many know that King-Seely was a GM company? I guess that blows the idea of using other brand engines ETC in our old Fords. They also made Wood Working equiptment under the Craftsman name for Sears
