How high's the petrol mama.....
My old rig for checking the float level was crude and slow, just a stand to hold the carb and a U tube to read the level. OK if you only have one carb but I do a fair amount of work and had 8 carbs that were all rebuilt except for checking the float level.
I wanted a stand tall enough to easily see the gas level without bending over. It should have quick connects to hold the carb and the “glass” jar. The base is an old 8 X 10 file drawer which catches spills and stores the components when not in use. The “jar” is an old cosmetics container selected as the closest fit to the task. It is fuel proof. I know most folks use a wide mouth pint jar but that requires way more gas than is needed to check the float level. My main concern was designing a quick and easy support for the glass. I had to sacrifice a furniture clamp but it is quick, positive and so easy to use it is almost fun! This one will join my Rainmaker Remedies it the trick tool cabinet. Does anyone know the from the seam setting on a Tilly, I have a drawer full to test. Rainmaker Ron |

I have Google Chrome installed in addition to Internet Explorer. 1. I opened Chrome 2. I pasted the URL address that I posted into the Chrome window. 3. Hit enter key. 4. Chrome opens the tilly page. 5. The ad floats to the top on right side. When it stops at top, click the "X" in upper right corner, the ad then goes away. The bottom reference is from picture of a page he scanned into article. "Measuring from the bottom edge of the seam on float to gasket surface should be 1 inch." The bottom page says 1 inch but in upper text he says he used 1 1/8 to prevent gas from overflowing out of main jet. "2- I set the float a little low at 1 1/8inch to try to avoid leaking out of the main nozzle." |
