In 1932, Ford Australia offered two different model Ford Utes. They were both open, as the Coupe Ute wasn't released until 1934. The Type 304 was the Well Type Ute, while the Type 302 was for the Style Side Ute. These illustrations are from the original Ford Australia Sales Brochure.
Unfortunately, the Restorer/Builder of this beautiful 1932 Ford Type 304 Well Type Ute didn't add the Side Boards, like the originals had? Check out what the originals look like from the Sales Brochure.

I "NEVER" understand the "NEED" to switch it from the "original" right hand drive to left hand drive......TO ME it all but ruins the "appeal" and "Unusual-ness" of the model. I saw this one, personally when it was auctioned up at Amelia Island RM Auction back in 2016 (?) with about 10 o 12 other 32's the previous owner had!!! It seems to also be missing the bed extensions on the top of the bed too!!!! Would still love to own it BUT the conversion back to RHD would be near impossible!! especially engine tins, exhaust, that's maybe why the change to LHD!!!

Try going to the bringatrailer.com site directly, it should let you in. Then search for 1932 Ford. There is one day remaining on the auction, bidding currently at $31k for it.

The black one with the red wheels is not like the others pictured.
Look at the back of the cab.

I found these earlier photos of the same 1932 Ford Type 304 Well Type Ute with the correct Side Boards attached. Why were they removed, as the Ute now seems very unusual with the low sides. These Well Type Utes were very popular with Tradesmen, as they could carry long lengths of timber, pipes and other items extending into the door area.
Question, why were they removed to create a non-original Ute?

Tubman in post #3 has a direct link to the vehicle on Bring a Trailer. Towards the bottom of his post. Upgraded engine and Mitchell overdrive and videos.

I mentioned that these Well Type Ford Utes were very popular with Tradesmen. Check out this 1936 Ford Well Type Coupe Ute carrying a long length of pipe. Notice that there is a metal protrusion attached to the front bumper with the same profile at the top as the rear side boards. That enabled the vehicle to carry lengths of material longer than the vehicle, as the load had this support at the front that you could tie down.
The last year that the Well Type Utes with Side Boards attached was available was 1940.
While the sides on the 1932 Well Type Ute above was lower than the same model Style Side Utes, this all changed in 1937, when the height of the sides was the same for both the Well Type and Style Side models.

I had a type 304 RHD I sold back about two years ago. They have a LOT of wood construction in the cab. I personally prefer the looks of the 302

Here is a picture of a genuine 1932 Type 302 Style Side Ute that I took back in the late sixties. It was fitted with Model A Ford Wheels so that they could push it around. The guy that bought it wanted to make a 1932 Ford Hot Rod but was not interested in the body, so it was discarded. As Ford Australia didn't offer any Coupes in 1932, the owner of this Ute decided to make his own. He used VW Doors, so I will leave it to your imagination as to how the end product looked. It is an absolute crying shame that this very well preserved Survivor was unceremoniously discarded. What a loss.
Notice the high sides on the Type 302 models. While not as practical as the Type 304 models, the Type 302 was the good looking one of the pair.

The Type 304 on bringatrailer.com looks like it didn't sell, it was bid up to $38,250.

This is the end result of the 1932 Ford Roadster Ute shown in Post 17. The Ute body and doors were discarded and a Coupe body was hand built, using VW doors. I don't know if this vehicle still exists, as is decades since I last heard of it?
