39 Pickup Cab Mounting
Hi All,
Does anyone have pictures of the correct way to mount a 39 Pickup Cab to the frame? I bought the correct wood (which seems to fit properly to the bottom of the cab) and I bought the bolt kit from Ray N. I am interested in any additional insulation that was used and the orientation / number of washers & springs. Thanks, George |

Re: 39 Pickup Cab Mounting
Only thing is frame welping that was stapled to the wood. Model A same as 39 in bulk.
Also depending on access to the correct bolts, old valve springs can double as front cab springs. Use castle nots/bolts to ensure they stay in place. At the very least nyla-nuts. If you bought a complete set of bolts you have everything you need. But ask and post your pictures if you are uncertain. Last edited by Tinker; 09-26-2021 at 09:32 PM. |

Re: 39 Pickup Cab Mounting
Just out of curiosity, some of the bolts (in the center of the cab) have no springs while the bolts at either end have springs. How is this supposed to work? I would have thought solid throughout or springed throughout.

Re: 39 Pickup Cab Mounting
My '39 pickup had that, no springs in center, just on the out side mounts. This was an original pickup that had never been apart before. From Grandparents farm and in my family since 1947.

Re: 39 Pickup Cab Mounting
Been driving my truck for 20+ years with the cab bolted solid to the frame with no issues. Of course I'm always running with a light load and on good roads. Not like the working trucks in their day.
