AER inserts I was told are aluminum bearing surface. Rich also sets up the clearance on rods and mains to .0017. Any tighter and they will seize.

These cars don't like anything over 45 at the most for sustained periods. I know, I know, there are plenty of you who say they cruise at 50 or 55 mph but I would never do that in a Model A without an overdrive. __________________ Life's journey is best undertaken slowly. X2 with Arnold. Anything over 45 MPH with a 3:78-1 rear end is very hard on the engine. I installed a 26% Mitchel overdrive in our 28 a month ago and love it. Now I can cruise at 50 without killing the engine. |
