Default 1947 Tonner pickup hubcaps

I am restoring a 47 Tonner pickup to Dearborn/Period Correct standards.
Might anyone know which is the correct BLUE color? I have accumulated many caps showing both these shades of blue. Any ideas on who restores hubcaps?
Thanks.
Rick

I too have quite a few of them, but I seem to come up with equal numbers of both colors. I always thought the dark ones were black, but never looked too close.

Put blue ones on the passenger side and black ones on the driver side to see if the judges notice?

I used Rust oleum Old Ford Blue on mine and the color matched up to the one painted factory cap that I have.

Post #6 (47topless) has offered spot on advice for a serious restorer. This is about as close as you will get to the authentic color. Plus, this brand flows very nicely so as to leave zero brush marks.

Does it matter? Saw a pickup posted a while back with radials, was A Dearborn winner?

Do these hubcaps have value? I may be picking up an engine and the guy wants to throw in tonner front and rear axles with wheels and hubcaps. Looks like heavy scrap to me, but I'm not in the big truck world.

I'm sort of a tonner collector and am quite fond of those parts you mentioned. But not on the East coast. The hubcaps have little value if they are typical dings and scratches type. I once paid a hundred bucks for a nice set, but us big truck lovers are quite scarce these days. PS, I saw those radials too!.. On a MH????
