Dual Exhaust on 34 coupe

Another newbe here thinking about putting dual exhaust on my stock 34 5 window Appreciate any suggestions on whether it is worth the cost and does it add any more power

For sure you will not notice any difference in power output just more noise. Of course you have the problem of navigating that extra pipe around the steering box and under floor battery on an otherwise standard car. It might have a nice improved exhaust note if you do it correctly though. Regards, Kevin.

Just be careful not to get the exhaust pipe too close to the fuel line on the drivers side or you will have vapr lock issues.

Look back in the old posts. I put a detail description and pictures of
duals we put on Skips 34 Pickup, same as a car chassis. Used a Optima
6 volt battery with a home made "box" that mounts against the "X"
member and gives plenty of clearance for the left exhaust next to the
battery and through the existing hole in the front cross member. These
holes on the left and right side are opened up with a hole saw. We did
several and one we mounted the battery on the inside of the right front
fender and I'm not sure which one was pictured. G.M.

To convert your exhaust to dual, you will need headers and two pipes routed from the headers, back through the frame and your choice of mufflers. Nothing better than the sound of a flathead with dual exhaust.
You may give "Red's Headers" a call and speak with them. I have had excellent experiences with them for this very thing.

I have to say I noticed a bit more power when I put duals on my otherwise stock 41. Nothing amazing, but she'd get up hills in top that needed a downshift before.

Certainly a bit louder now, but enjoyable.

Perhaps I'm just responding to the louder note in my driving style?

My '34 roadster had duals and the battery located on the passenger side of the rumble floor when I bought it. I have since replaced the battery with an Optima laying on it's side.
