Where's Middleburg? I'm West of Philadelphia in Malvern and we have a very active club called the Active A's.

I thought the same thing Wayne, its 2-3 hours away from downingtown. A little too far of a trip in my opinion.

Yeah, North of Harrisburg is probably a little far to come for Active A's. Is there a club in the Harrisburg area?

By the way John, it was the condensor. Real bear to switch out though, ended up substantially disassembling the distributor to get it positioned correctly.

Susquehanna Valley MARC club is probably the closest. Based in Lancaster/York counties. http://www.modelarestorers.org/

There is an AACA chapter out of Williamsport area. These are really nice guys, many of which have A's. I toured with them a few years ago. Probably closer to you and likely will have some guys in this club who live closer your way.

Changing the condenser can be very quick and easy if done exactly as follows:
1. Have the new condenser laying next to the distributor.
2. Unscrew the condenser ground first and lay the screw on the head.
3. Unscrew the condenser terminal screw and slip the condenser out while holding light pressure on the screw, so it stays in place.
4. Slip the new condenser in place and tighten the terminal screw then walk around and install the ground screw.

The complete job can be done in 2 or 3 minutes.

1931 Flamingo is right, I posted about our parking lot seminar with the condensor earlier today. Modern lower plate with the brass rub contact, didn't fit right and made it impossible to get the new condensor in without alot of futzing. Would have been a five minute job otherwise (I've done it on my other A's with the stock setup). Switching back as soon as I can.

Hmm I remember asking a certain somebody when I sold him some condensers if he had the modern setup, I wonder who that was?
