First thing to check is if the speedometer shows any speed when the clutch is let out in any gear. If the speedometer shows speed, then the problem is behind that speedometer drive gear. Let us know what the speedometer shows when the clutch is let out in first or second gear.
Was the pinion gear to driveshaft key in good condition? |

Could be the key in the pinion has sheared. The drive shaft is spinning but no power to rear wheels.
