Fuel line-Pump to Carburetor
I am surprised to find that the solid steel fuel line kits from the fuel pump to the carburetor use a plumbing compression fitting to seal the joint. I would have assumed that it would use a flared fitting.
I'm asking because I want to replace the rubber line from my pump to my carb. I am running an Edelbrock high rise manifold and 1405 carb with the standard fuel pump. Both fittings are 3/8". Should I change over to a flared fitting or use the compression ring fittings? I will have to make up my own line anyway, and I have to change out the fittings because they are currently for push on and clamp rubber hose. What is most common? John |
