Default Unusual intake manifold

I found this intake manifold in a box of old parts. It looks like a model A intake except the top is squared off. Can someone tell me what I have?

Yes, that is a Model B intake. Bob

Some seek out the Model B intake manifold as the interior passages are larger and result in greater air/fuel flow - and more horsepower from the engine.

There is a downside though as the flange attachment of the Model B manifold is angled slightly differently - and the GAV control rod doesn't mate up as nicely to a Zenith Model A Carb when mounted on the Model B manifold. The Model B carb will fit better though these two having been mated together originally on the Model B engine.

So if you swap out - you probably want both carb and manifold together.

What Joe says. Snyders sells a bolt and gasket combo with special machined bolts. The special bolts allow either the A or B carb to pivot on the model B intake so that the choke rod will properly align. This is the easiest way to use the model B intake on the model A. For best performance, use the model B carburetor. The B carb has a larger throat that matches the bore diameter of the model B intake. The bolt and gasket setup is on page A-137 of the 2013 Snyders catalog . part numberB-9510-S Price $15.60 . I cut off the flange on a model B intake, repositioned it and brazed it back in place.
