Default Oil pump shield

How can I tell if I have '31 Pan? What measurement tells me? Is it possible to trim the shield ?

Nov-Dec 2003 Restorer,same art. as above. Measure the rib in pan for height.?

The shield can be trimmed, or left off if you want. Keep the "can" around the pump, it keeps the pump from pumping air.
