Hey,
Quick question for you guys, I would like to go look at a 28 Tudor thats in my area and it looks like its painted Vagabond green with black fenders and yellow wheels. But that color wasn't an option in 28, am i correct? Here is a picture of it, He says it was built in May of 28 |

I have a 28 Tudor that is virtually the same color green. But all my research tells me that it was not available in 28. Still looks nice though.

Just looked in the book Original ford model and it looks just like the one in the book except original cars came with black wheels but the dealer could have paint them so if you like them leave it alone she is a very pretty looking car ( the colors is Dawn Gray lower and gunmetal Blue upper body and molding and straw stripe )it is correct for your car .best of luck to you

Its Dawn Gray light & not used on 1928 Body Styles. Only the Dawn Gray Dark ( which looks Dark Green ) was used in 1928..

Thanks guys, she does look quite pretty. jm29henry, I thought the upper body and trim look dark green and not gun metal blue. could be the computer monitor. if it is not the correct colors, would it hurt the judging? Thanks for all your help

IMHO the only judging that counts is yours! If you are happy with it, go with it. As far as car shows go - as long as the colors are not obviously not correct (metal flake, fenders painted body color, etc.) most local judges (especially AACA) won't be knowledgable of all the correct/year/model color combinations. Now if you are planning on going to a national MAFCA or MARC meet - thats another story.

Actually gunmetal blue is more of a dark green. I'll see if I can find a picture of my 28 Phaeton firewall with it's original gunmetal blue paint.

Here's the picture of my 28 firewall with original gunmetal blue paint. I cleaned off the grime with WD-40 and a soft paint brush. I might have use a small amount of gas also, but I sprayed it with WD-40 and let it soak in for a few days.
