Default Front Brake operating pin

I have a late 31 Tudor. Years ago I had to replace the king pins. I remember the top of the model a king pins did not align. We put in 32 king pins and all was good. It would make sense that a late 31 could have a 32 front end. Saying that I understand there are two pins. A-2075 7.25" and B-2075 7.75". This is the pin that goes inside the king pin. Does anyone know what size pin should be in the car?

Anybody know how I could have bent that pin? What is it telling me?

thx

The 1932 had 12" brakes so needs a longer operating pin.

A Model A takes 7.25" push rod...okay.

The reason that they are bent is the angle of the actuating lever is laying back,
they NEED too lay toward the front of the car. With them angled straight up OR back the push rod is forced into the king pin at the top and bends the
rod. That should tell you that the brakes need to be serviced, like new shoes
and what ever else is worn in the brake system..

The late '31 Model A's had a Model A front end. The '32 was a completely different chassis and the brake rods did not run on the outside of the frame rails but went from each corner under the frame to a very short cross shaft assembly in the center of the car.

All Model A's used Model A king pins, the '32 type was used thru '34.

As stated before, the Model A operating pin is 7 1/4 inches, '32-34 are 7 3/4 inches.

If the car has 7 3/4 inch operating pins, it may have '32 front brakes. They bolt right on and look very similar to late '31 brakes but they are 12 inch dia. instead of 11 inch dia.

If you have any 32-34 operating pins, I am in the market for some.

The Angle of the cut slot for the lock pin on 32-34 spindle bolts are also not straight with the facing edge of the round of the upper end where the brake operating shaft connects. If you try and folks do and have use the 32-34 spindles the pins and brake operating shafts can bind when the lock pin is inserted and locks the spindle bolt at an angle .
Many buy the later spindles at swap meets thinking they are A’s but are not.
I will try and post a photo later unless someone has one handy.
