I doubt its an 'A' ! I know the fall-out can cause deformities, but.

Maybe what WAS the vehicle? I'm kinda like Big John; would have thought the ground swell would have moved on thru and devastated ????

Re: Old historical photo, what is the vehicle?
The caption on the photo was 'Nagasaki, 20 minutes after the atomic bombing in 1945' , but I agree, it's kind of hard to imagine anyone would be still be standing around? The distance might be deceptive?

It looks like a 1938 Datsun to me, possibly a Model 17 sedan. Look close at the grille.

The Nagasaki bomb missed the target spot, but still did a lot of damage. The photo might have been taken some distance away from where the bomb hit.

Can you say "Photoshop"? Doubtful that the mushroom cloud would still be there after 20 min.

Re: Old historical photo, what is the vehicle?
You guys got me wondering. How long can that cloud hang out? Depending on winds etc up to an hour or much longer. what I read says it takes about 10 minutes for the cloud to stabilize and it grows laterally. Nasty business.

Re: Old historical photo, what is the vehicle?
With all the dust that was kicked up, I bet it was there for much longer than 20 minutes.

IN the photo with the fire trucks, are the two on the right 30 Model A's. Shell and bumpers look right.
