292 pcv question
I have a one inch carb spacer with a large vac port out the back from a 351 2v ford. I am now running a 2100 motorcraft 2v carb on my 292 without a pvc. I like the carb and am wondering if I can use the spacer and put in a pvc in that flat spot at the rear of the valley pan. I would also build in a baffle underneath and also block off that road draft tube. The spacer fits the manifold perfectly so I hope this will work. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: 292 pcv question
Since you'll be removing the valley pan to make the modifications... you could swap it for another oem valley pan with the rear vent tube hole and baffle already in it. (photos below are of oem parts)
Here's a link for a few new pre-made parts that could pop right in. Enter "PCV" in the -product search- box, upper right corner. http://www.classictbird.com/searchprods.asp . Last edited by dmsfrr; 11-13-2018 at 11:19 PM. |

Re: 292 pcv question
Thank you for the replys, dmsfrr and darrell, great idea to use a oem pan but I already have two pans without the hole. I was going to experiment on one and have a backup just in case. I'm sure I can fab it all together, just kinda wanted to know if this setup would work. I have a machinist friend who will bore the hole in the pan. thanks again

has to work if you do it right.always like to see someone trying things like this.as these engines get older parts are harder to find depending on where you live.you often have to impervious

You will also have to drill the correct size hole to accept a grommet and valve.

Re: 292 pcv question
Thanks for the pictures Kultulz, the underside pan pic gives me a good idea on how to fab the baffle. Also thanks to all who confirmed that this will work.

Re: 292 pcv question
Inside the baffle, jamb in three thicknesses of 3M green pad. It will catch and allow a slow drain back of motor oil splash and fog. Use a hole saw the size of the grommet groove. Use a fine rat tail to debur the hole, weld on the baffle, prime both sides with red oxide primmer from a rattle can, and paint the outside. The grommet and PCV from a 302 Mustang will work.

Re: 292 pcv question
What K and don have described is best. But I’ve had success with these on stock motors in the valley pan.
I like to use a “step drill” on sheet metal. Less distortion than a drill bit, less filing than a hole saw. http://behrents.com/parts/moroso-per...SABEgLShPD_BwE https://www.amazon.com/HUELE-Titaniu...79138730&psc=1 |
