Default 1957 Ford Wagon

City: Modesto
State: Ca
Price: 15,500.

FOR SALE Asking $15,500

1957 Ford Country Sedan four door station wagon

I’ve owned the car for 2.5 years. Since purchasing I’ve replaced the radiator and after driving it for another year the engine.

ENGINE: Y-Block, .060 overbore 292 which makes it a 301ci. Engine was built by Charlie Burns with heads done by Tim McMaster the Y-Block Guy. Engine has a mild cam and now sports a four barrel “B” intake and Edlebrock 600cfm carb with electric choke. Updated it with an alternator and Pertronix ignition parts with hi fire coil. Battery is also new. Intake manifold is powder coated silver.

Dual exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers, if I remember right. Exhaust runs the length of the car exiting right below the rear bumper. With the new cam the lope of the exhaust has a very nice sound.

Transmission is the original 3 speed auto. Runs and shifts perfectly and doesn’t leak.

Car has factory power-steering which did leak but has stopped and seems to be fine now. The guy I got it from didn’t drive it much and I think from use its sealed back up.

Brakes are original drum and work fine.

Front splash pan below the grill was powder-coated silver.

Interior: Carpet and seats were redone many years ago but are in good shape. Door panels, all the interior paint, headliner and rear cargo area are all original. Some staining but nothing real major is for its age is in incredible condition honestly. The piping around the doors where it merges into the headliner is starting to come apart. You can see it in some of the photos.

The paint is weakest part of the car overall. It’s been painted once and that was many years ago. From a few feet away it looks amazing, up close you can see some chips, cracks etc., starting to showing its age. The passenger rear quarter panel along with the tailgate was re-sprayed at some point in time and is a little different hue of white than the rest of the car. Most of the time you can’t tell but in some lighting conditions you can see it. Some photos you can see the slight difference. I actually owned the car for a while before noticing the difference.

The car is solid, straight and extremely reliable, I drive it to work every day. Engine compartment has not been detailed and looks like its driven daily. When I had the engine out I resprayed the firewall white. The original paint was fine but stained from age. Looks good now.

Chrome: Both front and rear were re-chromed along with the grill at some point in time and are perfect.

It looks like the gas tank was replaced with a new one before I got it. Wiper motor is new and electric.

Car has had an under dash AC unit installed. Its complete but has never been charged.

When I put the new motor in I also installed an oil pressure and heat temp under the dash. Steward Warner with curved glass and looks very nice.

Car does not have seat belts.

Side trim is very nice as you can see in the pics.

Glass is all very nice. There is one tiny mark on the second door on the drivers side. Does not stand out and I’m not sure what caused it.

When it was repainted the door rubber seals were replaced. All the other seals are original.

Second seat does fold down to make the cargo area larger.

Wheels and hubcaps are original.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks,

Lance James
